During the recent transit strike we, the drivers, sent a letter to you, the residents of Rutland. We wished to explain the situation and appeal to you for help.
Ten thousand letters were mailed via Canada Post. The response was remarkable. Scores of telephone calls and emails were sent to City Hall each hour. At a time in our transit history when a foreign company was attempting to reduce our standard of living and diminish the dignity which our forefathers left for us, we were helped by you, the Rutland residents.
